When creating content, there are certain special characters that can be inserted to optimize the layout on the various devices. We will provide the most common characters here so you can use them to improve your content.
The provided special characters are supported by most browsers.
Soft hyphen
Sometimes a very long word is used in content, that is cut off in the design or negatively influences the design.
You can insert an invisible separator for a long word, which is intended to separate the word in smaller screens. You therefore can copy the following [] string, insert it in the desired places, and remove the square brackets. After this, the space is no longer visible in the content creation (in the backend).
In a regular textfield with HTML formatting can alternatively also ­ be inserted.
It is an invisible control character (so-called Soft hyphen ), which is supported by most browsers.
Protected space
Sometimes, there are terms (brands, "CHF 200" etc.), which are separated by a space, but shouldn't be broken.
To prevent the break, a protected space can be inserted. To do this, copy the following [], paste it into the appropriate location, and then remove the square brackets.
In HTML it's called - This can not be used in fields where HTML is not allowed (for example in titles).
